Williams launches PPE dryer
A US company that specialises in drying systems has launched two new devices specifically for personal protective equipment (PPE).
Williams Direct Dryers has unveiled its new 110 and 220 electric wall mount and portable dryers designed for use with clothing including hazmat suits, helmets and hand protection.
Both of the systems also feature energy management cycles which can lower their electricity use by over 80 per cent.
Des Mayne of the company said: 'The difference in our dryers is that the warmed drying air is delivered directly to the toughest part of the clothing to dry those areas first, ensuring safe and even drying.
'For example, boots are dried from the toe back, and gloves from the fingers back.'
The launch of the dryers has come after research by 3M found that one in four health and safety managers would like more information on the use of PPE.
Almost 90 per cent also regard training as the best way to ensure the equipment is worn by workers.
