Welsh Assembly commits to HSE scheme, protective boots users told
The Welsh Assembly government is raising awareness of the importance of workplace health and safety by taking part in an ongoing UK scheme.
In a development which may interest firms looking to improve their own standards of safety through the use of equipment like protective boots, the organisation has announced its support for the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) Pledge.
Terry Rose, the HSE's director for Wales, has welcomed the Welsh Assembly's commitment to the strategy.
He said: 'We are delighted that the Welsh Assembly government has pledged its support to our initiative and hope that together we can take steps to reduce the numbers even further.'
The HSE's Pledge gives employers the chance to improve their commitments to health and safety, in order to tackle injuries and deaths that are caused by work.
According to the HSE's website, the scheme is also designed to cut down on complacency among organisations.
