Welding shields will complement protective boots
A new range of welding shields is expected to complement other safety equipment such as protective boots, its designers suggest.
Developed by the technology firm 3M, Speedglas 100 welding shields are said to have been created with the occasional welder in mind.
Light in weight but 'powerful in performance', 3M will make the shield available in five different designs to suit diverse user tastes.
The company suggests that the Speedglas 100 shield will offer users a reliable blend of comfort, vision and protection.
Speedglas shields will also feature an auto-darkening filter, providing uniform shading across its viewing area.
It has three different protective settings depending on the magnitude of the welding task undertaken.
A versatile headband is also incorporated into the design, making the shield adjustable to fit different sized faces and heads.
