Warehouse guide highlights safety gloves importance

A new Warehouse Safety Hazards and Solutions Guide has been produced to offer advice on safe working practices.

Safety hazards contribute to a myriad of injuries and deaths each year, warns Daniel Evans, assistant marketing manager at Graphic Products, which has produced the guide.

'It's so crucial not only to recognise warehouse safety hazards but to understand effective solutions for preventing them in the first place, and that's where this new guide steps in,' he added.

As part of the guide's Think Safety checklist, firms are reminded to ensure that employees use proper personal protective equipment, such as safety gloves, when handling chemicals.

The Health and Safety Executive has also recently spoken of the importance of staying safe at work, pointing out that the agriculture, quarrying and construction industries in Scotland see the most deaths and injuries.

Last year, more than 11,500 workers in Scotland were hurt or killed because of events relating to their employment.
