Toyota launches handling guide
Toyota's material handling division has launched a new guide for those who often lift goods at work.
It has been reported that the new publication includes advice for workers on personal protective equipment that may prevent people from being hurt during the handling process.
Manufacturingtalk.com reports that the guidance may also be helpful to business leaders looking to ensure they are meeting legal requirements on the issue.
Talking to the website, Toyota Material Handling UK's marketing manager Miles Griffin said: 'Toyota has long been synonymous with innovations to reduce risk in the workplace.
'Our work in this area has allowed us to produce this comprehensive guide.'
The launch of the guide comes after the Health and Safety Executive's Nottinghamshire inspector Angus Robbins urged businesses to ensure that risks related to working at height are also 'properly assessed'.
He claimed that the warning was particularly aimed at those in building, refurbishment and maintenance, as over half of falls at work occur in the construction trade.
