  3. Sperian launches new safety footwear

A leading personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturer has launched several new types of safety footwear.

Sperian has added 11 new varieties of shoes to its Bac'Run range, which all feature a non-metallic toe-cap designed to insulate feet from both extreme heat and cold.

According to Manufacturingtalk, the footwear also includes polyurethane to make it 20 per cent lighter, as well as an outsole which reportedly features 'excellent grip and shock absorption'.

In addition, quick dry technology is also used in the shoes, while the mid-sole has been designed to offer users 'greater flexibility and suppleness'.

Details about the new PPE have been revealed after it was announced that BM Solution's Click-On device was named the best safety product at a recent awards event.

The anti-tamper device, which can be used to ensure the safety of scaffolding clamps and other fixed points, was given the accolade at the UK's Health and Safety Awards.
