Slip-resistant protective boots launched
A new range of slip-resistant protective boots, called Black Hornet, is set to be launched later this month.
The boots and shoe company Weinbrenner-Thorogood is to manufacture the footwear which is expected to offer lightweight comfort and durable underfoot tread.
Aimed at both fire fighters and members of the construction industry, the boots will provide wearers with slip-resistant soles to ensure better balance on unstable surfaces.
Patrick Miner, vice president of sales and marketing at Weinbrenner, says the Black Hornet boots will allow wearers to focus on their jobs rather than worrying about underfoot safety.
The Black Hornet boot is said to remain stable in icy conditions because it incorporates Vibram sole traction technology.
The Thorogood division of Weinbrenner produces work boots for a variety of industrial and outdoor professions.
It has been a leading footwear manufacturer since 1892.
