Safety gloves a wise option for dog handlers

People whose occupation involves working with potentially dangerous dogs should ensure that safety gloves are part of their outfit, one expert has noted.
Robert Kaiser, chief executive of PPSS, said that personal protective equipment is vital to prevent bites, scratches and potential infections.
He noted that all employers have a duty to provide their workers with equipment to minimise risk in their daily work and safety gloves can help to achieve this when those workers operate in industries such as animal handling.
'Those professionals who advise others regarding dangerous or aggressive dogs, as defined by the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and Dogs Act 1871, can find themselves often dealing with potentially hostile members of the public and dangerous dogs,' Mr Kaiser explained.
Personal protective equipment made from quality materials can help to ensure they do not come to harm, the expert added.
A recent post on Lon's Article Directory noted that companies which take steps to ensure employees are provided with the necessary equipment are far less likely to encounter problems if staff go on to suffer an injury which could have been prevented.© Adfero Ltd
