Safety boots users may benefit from new forum launch
A new forum has been created to give firms the chance to focus on a variety of topics concerning employee health and safety.
In a development that may appeal to those advocating the use of personal protective equipment such as safety boots, the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) Pledge Forum will aim to encourage the discussion of useful concepts.
The body's deputy chief executive Kevin Myers suggested that the development of the forum is a positive step.
He noted: 'If an idea about making people safer or healthier [...] is a good one and it can be replicated in other businesses, we should do everything we can to help that idea to spread.'
A number of firms are already said to have committed themselves to the HSE's workplace health and safety pledge.
Meanwhile, companies operating in Medway may soon be able to receive support from the Estates Excellence scheme, which is backed by the HSE and the local council.
