Safety boots use may grow if government does right thing and boosts building
Builders may need to buy some new safety boots if the government stand by its new system which it hopes will improve the number of homes being built in the UK.
According to Steve Turner, head of communications at the Home Builders Federation, while property supply is currently low, the government has made moves to introduce a more robust planning system.
Mr Turner suggested that this will help boost construction, which in turn will provide more homes for the property market as well as increase the number of jobs in the sector.
"It is within the government's interest to assist the industry to deliver the homes that we know are desperately needed," he explained.
A recent report by the Federation of Master Builders construction workloads continued to fall in the third quarter of 2011, the 15th consecutive drop, however the rate of decline slowed to its lowest in a year.
