Russian safety boots market growing substantially

The Russian market for personal protection equipment (PPE) such as safety boots is set to increase substantially, according to new research.

A report by the consulting and research firm Frost & Sullivan suggests that PPE revenues reached a total of 667 million euros (£606 million) in 2008.

This figure is expected to rise to 1.3 billion euros by the year 2015.

Frost & Sullivan's report looks into market sectors including head, eye and hearing protection, alongside gloves and safety boots.

The company claims that the demand for PPE will rise as global awareness grows concerning safe working environments.

It also suggests that PPE manufacturers are increasingly focusing on the flexibility and usability of their products, in order to get more people to use them.

Frost & Sullivan employs around 1,800 analysts and consultants, covering over 300 global markets.
