Ronco introduces chemically safe protective gloves

A global producer of safety equipment and protective gloves has announced it is to avoid the use of potentially harmful materials in its products.

The safety glove specialist Ronco, which markets a range of items aimed at the construction industry, is guaranteeing that all of its gloves will now be free of chemicals such as Di-octyl phthalate (DOP).

Ronco claims that a number of concerns have recently been raised regarding the use of DOP in products such as vinyl and manufacturing gloves.

DOP is said to cause some building workers 'respiratory distress'.

The firm has now announced its commitment to use of Di-isonoyl phthalate (DINP) as alternative to DOP.

Ron Pecchioli, the president of Ronco, says the company would never compromise the safety of its users.

He commented: 'We have a highly skilled and specialised product development team and our mission is to provide consistent quality products that enhance safety, confidence and productivity at the workplace.'

Ronco produces a range of personal protective equipment, including eyewear and ear protection.
