Protective gloves used by people working in a range of different environments are essential in keeping employees safe from harm, according to one manufacturer.

The protective gloves producer Superior Glove Works believes that hands are people's most valuable assets and their safety should therefore be of paramount importance.

Producing and supplying a range of gloves and other personal protective equipment such as masks and glasses, the firm suggests that hands contain more bones and moving parts than many other areas of the body.

As a result, employers should check that their workers are wearing quality protective gloves when necessary, the company adds.

Superior Glove Works is now launching a new video competition to encourage people to think about hand safety in workplaces such as building sites and factories.

It hopes to communicate the message that cuts, burns and fractures can all badly injure hands and sideline workers for long periods of time.
