PPE vital in maintaining workplace safety

Workplace safety can be enhanced through the adoption of decent personal protective equipment (PPE), it has been highlighted.

In a development that might offer encouragement to users of things like protective eyewear and safety boots, Prevent Blindness America is aiming to collaborate with Sperian Protection to encourage safer practices among the country's employees.

David Iannelli of Sperian's Uvex brand believes that it is important that those responsible for workplace safety are offered support.

Mr Iannelli, the brand's senior product manager, commented: 'We ... understand the important role that high-quality personal protective equipment plays in creating a culture of safety.'

The organisations are now set to run a joint safety leadership initiative across the US.

Earlier in the year, Uvex also aimed to offer safety guidance to people, through the creation of a new website.

Users of the site are now able to access a range of advice and tools.
