PPE event may highlight importance of protective boots
A major new personal protective equipment (PPE) event is aiming to raise awareness about the important roles safety gear can play in a wide variety of industries.
Set to be held at the Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in mid-November, the Personal Protective Equipment Conference 2009 will offer education resources and networking opportunities to employees operating in areas like fire services, veterinary industries and rescue services.
It will also provide advice to those who handle hazardous materials through their occupations.
Businesses hoping to see how PPE like protective boots could improve the safety of their employees may also be interested to note that the event will see demonstrations of new products.
A sub-group of the US Department of Defense Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO) will support the event, while other sponsors will include the National Institute of Justice.
The CTTSO works in collaboration with more than 100 organisations in the US to see how the threat of terrorism can be effectively tackled.
