  3. Morris Material awarded safety accreditation

A lifting services provider has gained SAFEcontractor accreditation for its work in improving health & safety protection.

Intended to reward UK contractors with high standards of health & safety practice, Morris Material Handling was accredited for its work in improving services relating to the servicing and repair of lifting equipment.

However, previous winners typically secure the award for improving health & safety training, personal protective equipment, first aid and accident reporting and risk assessments.

Manufacturing Talk quoted Pat Campbell, Morris Material Handling's operations director, Maintenance Services saying: "We have always held an excellent health and safety record within our field and this latest award is testimony to this fact.

"We are obviously delighted to have secured SAFEcontractor accreditation as it is a widely recognised industry standard and one that many blue chip organisations use as a primary means of selecting suitable contractors with whom to work."

Morris won the award following an extensive assessment of its health & safety documentation and its comparison with the required SAFEcontractor Charter Standards before accreditation can be granted.
