Minister to address health and safety conference
The secretary of state for work and pensions, John Hutton, is to address the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health's (IOSH) annual conference this month.
Mr Hutton will be attending the event at the International Centre in Telford on March 27th, the IOSH has announced.
According to the organisation, the minister will be one of a number of key speakers at the conference, which will consider health and safety issues, including the use of personal protective equipment, in the light of new challenges caused by developments in working practices and social trends.
The conference is not the only event taking place this month to try to improve health and safety in the construction workplace.
East Midlands working well together group will be holding a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) supported event at a construction site in Burton on Trent to advise small businesses in the industry on good health and safety practice, HSE information services has announced.
