  3. Howard Leight unveils new hearing protection

Safety equipment manufacturer Howard Leight has unveiled a new range of hearing protection.

The company's Impact Sport Ultraslim Sound Amplification Earmuffs are designed to amplify ambient sounds in industrial areas while also protecting against hazardous noise levels.

According to the firm, the slim design of the personal protective equipment makes it easier for people to store the device, while it also features a padded leatherette headband for comfort.

Renee Bessette, marketing manager for Sperian Hearing Protection, which owns the Howard Leight brand, said the equipment 'allows users to hear what's going on around them-including co-workers, signals and alarms - while still providing needed protection from hazardous noise'.

She added that the equipment was 'ideal' for those exposed to impact sounds.

Howard Leight also recently released its Thunder T2HV Hi-Visibility Earmuffs, which are designed for those who work in low light or inclement weather conditions.

The hearing protection has been described as useful for airport ground crew workers and road construction crews.
