Farming awareness event may benefit safety boots users

A number of Essex farm workers are expected to take part in a safety awareness event today (October 22nd).
Launched by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Safety and Health Awareness Day in Billericay aims to encourage those working in the agriculture sector to focus on how they can reduce accidents.
In a development that may appeal to workers looking to use personal protective equipment like safety boots to lower their chances of being injured, issues surrounding working with chemicals and operating at height will be discussed.
Meanwhile, a range of practical demonstrations are expected to take place.
Janet Price, health and safety awareness officer at the HSE, commented: 'Farming is a dangerous occupation.
'Thousands of people every year suffer injuries or ill health, which prevents them from carrying out their normal work.'
Meanwhile, the HSE is calling for building companies to protect their staff when they work at height, following a recent incident in Leek.© Adfero Ltd
