Campaign launched to highlight importance of safety gloves
A campaign aimed at highlighting the importance of safety gloves and other forms of hand and arm protection has been launched by the British Safety Council.
Called Changing the Habits of a Lifetime, the first part of the campaign will focus on hand and arm protection and will attempt to make businesses aware of the health and safety issues which could affect their staff.
The organisation has teamed up with Marigold Industrial in a bid to encourage businesses to take part in a survey, which will look at how well companies understand the regulations and issues around correct glove selection.
Recently, the British Safety Council suggested that small businesses need more advice on how to comply with health and safety law.
Neal Stone, director of policy and research at the organisation, said 'expert, simple and proportionate advice' would help get rid of the perception that health and safety rules and regulations are 'just a burden weighing business down'.
