Businesses urged to check PPE
Businesses have been urged by a personal protective equipment (PPE) supplier to ensure they regularly check the condition of their respiratory protection.
Arco's category manager for respiratory protective equipment, Steven Binnie, has stated that people 'cannot underestimate' the importance of giving staff well-fitting items.
The expert made the comment to Manufacturingtalk to highlight Breath Easy Week, which is taking place from June 16th to promote awareness of such issues.
Speaking to the website, Mr Binnie said: 'Breathe Easy Week is the perfect opportunity for companies to heighten the awareness of protecting one's lungs.
'In order to improve wearer acceptance, it is vital to ensure that any PPE is comfortable as well as protective.'
The advice on respiratory protection has come after US company Gateway recently launched a new item of protective glasses.
Described as ideal for those who want protection from disorders such as macular degeneration, the 4X4 Sport Safety Eyewear features polycarbonate lenses with anti-scratch coating and flexible temple tips.
