  3. The Health and Safety Act: Five Shocking Ways Not to Do It

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is the most important piece of legislation which covers work related health and safety in the United Kingdom, and understandably it is there for a reason. Before this time, around 8 million employees had no legal safety protection from the activities they undertook at work.

Today it aims to promote, stimulate and encourage high standards of health and safety in the workplace and everyone no matter their role or level in the company must comply. However, many choose to ignore the recommendations much to the risk of their wellbeing. Where some cut corners which may easily go unnoticed, others really take it to the extreme.

Here are five really shocking examples.
