Ensure you select the right footwear
This is the most important decision. Protec offer various options of sole construction and materials so to make your choice easier.
Sole Units Pros and Cons:
Direct injection moulding – dual density lightweight inner density of polyurethane and outer density of nitrile rubber. Lightweight andflexible.
Goodyear welted – Sole is stitched to the upper. Strong construction, but heavier than dual density. Suits dry conditions.
Cemented soles – Sole units are cemented to the upper using a strong glue compound.
PVC Nitrile 120oC resistant soles oil and solvent resistant
Airwair /cushioned soles 120oC resistant soles oil and solvent resistant
Rubber Nitrile 300oC resistant soles oil and solvent resistant
- Polyurethane sole units for general purpose and for use against resistance to oil and solvents.
- Nitrile rubber for higher temperatures and for use against resistance to oil and solvents.
- Antistatic footwear to dissipate static electricity
- Footwear to protect against Electrostatic Discharge
- Cambrelle and Thinsulate linings to help control comfort by dispelling moisture away from the foot.
- Water repellent uppers to keep water out
- Sympatex and other waterproof membranes to keep water out and allow the foot to breathe.
- Lorica footwear resistance to certain oils and chemicals
- Non metallic footwear for use at airports and where security screen operates
