The Record range of bench planes is manufactured to uncompromisingly high standards.
The planes feature tungsten vanadium cutter blade, accurately machined blade setting, full adjustments, selected hardwood handle and knob, cast iron base frog and lever cap, and traditional brass adjusting nut.
There are basically three types of bench planes.
Smoothing Planes: The most frequently purchased plane used for final finishing work and ideal for general work.
Jack Planes: For the preliminary squaring of rough timber. The general workhorse for stock removal.
Fore or Jointer Planes: For removing the roughness and uneveness on long surfaces prior
to smoothing.
