  3. Protec Direct and 3M Competition Winners Live Life in the Fast Lane

Protec Direct and 3M recently offered lucky competition winners a thrilling day they wouldn’t forget with a F1 Team Experience at the Lotus F1 Team Technical and Heritage Centre, Oxfordshire.

The competition which attained over 1,000 entries and ran throughout the entire month of May, saw the chosen four, Neil Outram of Direct Valeting, Michael Sandford of EPS Systems, and Kush Vekaria and Jay Raghwani of Jaysam Contractors enjoy a once in a lifetime experience for any Formula 1 enthusiast.

.

Winners were able to (literally) put themselves in the driver’s seat through the interactive games: the Batak Machine where they tested their reflexes against those of a Formula 1 driver, and the Lotus F1 Team Simulator where drivers could virtually race round a Formula 1 track of their choice.

.

In addition to the interactive elements the experience offered, the Lotus F1 Team Heritage Centre houses some of the team’s most significant F1 machinery from the past 30 years. Those present were able to see the championship winning Renault driven by Fernando Alonso, a car from the hit movie Mad Max, and a variety of current Lotus F1 vehicles. The day culminated with a quiz providing a champagne prize for the most knowledgeable F1 fan.

.

One of the winners who thoroughly enjoyed the experience was Neil Outram, Health and Safety manager of Direct Valeting, one of the leading providers of outsourced vehicle preparation services to the UK retail motor industry. With headquarters in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Direct Valeting provides their fully managed outsourced valeting service to a nationwide customer base of blue chip motor dealerships.

As an avid F1 fan, the Lotus F1 experience day was of huge interest to Neil, both professionally and personally.

Neil said,

“I found Protec Direct mainly because I was looking for the best deal on 3M products. I've used plenty of 3M products personally and appreciate the quality, and value for that matter.

“Everyone was very welcoming and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I felt very privileged for the experience.”

&A highlight for all, including Neil, was the factory tour, where Lotus’ attention to detail, passion and commitment shone through.

.

Chris Wyer, Brand Manager of Protec Direct said,

“It was amazing to see the attention to detail Lotus commits to all of its efforts at all levels of the organisation, from major parts like the engine and chassis down to the finer details of the wiring system and interacted engineered parts; it was an insight to understand all the work goes in to two cars racing round a track.

“We appreciate the support from 3M to be able to reward some of our loyal customers in this way, and we hope that we can continue to offer such incentives in the future.”

Speaking of the day and of 3M’s relationship with Protec Direct, Anja Buchan, Channel Marketing Manager at 3M said,

“The team at Protec Direct are so proactive and diligent – they’re a real pleasure to work with and it’s so pleasing that their team and our customers enjoyed the event so much.”

The day was able to take place due to 3M’s relationship with Lotus as a technical partner who use many of 3M’s products.
