Sunlight acquires PPE manufacturer
Sunlight has announced it has acquired personal protection equipment (PPE) manufacturer Salop Workwear Solutions.
Based in Shrewsbury, Salop Workwear Solutions primary focus is on the specialist fabric garment market for fashion and leisurewear, although its PPE division supplies garments to customers such as the fire service.
Among the PPE products Salop produce are flame retardant garments for welding and flame hazard, paint spraying nylon zip fronted garments, high visibility foul weather clothing made from polyurethane coated nylon and ceramic garments for dust protection made from 100 per cent polyester with a ceramic finish.
The acquisition, for which no figure was disclosed, comes after length negotiations with owner Rob Howard
Laundry and Cleaning News quoted Martin Roberts, human resources director at Sunlight, saying: "We're not envisaging any changes.
"The existing workforce at the Shrewsbury factory will remain, and management will report to regional director for workwear Chris Gillard."
