Safety gloves may be used more as euro area construction rises

Safety gloves could see more use in Europe as construction output increases.

A new report from Eurostat indicated that builders saw growing demand for their services during July.

The body revealed that seasonally-adjusted production rates rose by 1.4 per cent in the euro area and by 0.3 per cent in the EU27 when compared with the previous month.

When considered in light of figures from the same period last year, these figures indicate a gain of 1.2 per cent in the euro area and 0.2 per cent growth in the EU27.

An in-depth look at the European Union member states found that construction output climbed by 17.4 per cent in Poland during July, while Spain saw similar gains of 12.5 per cent.

Among the largest recorded decreases were Slovenia, whose output fell by 26.6 per cent and Bulgaria, where drops of 13.3 per cent were recorded.

David Lummis, chief executive officer of the British Safety Federation recently lauded Polyco's innovative safety glove fibre product that improved dexterity and enhanced protection.
