Online PPE community launched
A new social network facility designed to bring together professionals from the personal protective equipment (PPE) industry has been launched.
US company Ansell has created the free Online Safety Community website to keep people working in the sector up-to-date on the latest trends and new products that have been designed across the globe.
Tracey Dodge, marketing communications manager of Ansell, told ReliablePlant.com that the new portal was a 'customised MySpace or Facebook' for the workplace safety industry.
She explained: 'The internet has revolutionised the way people get information.
'The Online Safety Community is a great stop for those interested in what's happening in the PPE and occupational safety industry-straight from the people who live and breathe industrial safety.'
Last month, Ansell announced that it had completed its acquisition of the Hawkeye Glove Company for around $20 million (£10 million).
The firm is the leading supplier of hand protection to the US military and manufactures products at five sites across the country.
