Olympic project focused on worker safety, protective boots users told

The health and safety of those working on the construction of the London 2012 Olympic Park will continue to be a major area of focus, according to the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).

A number of the measures that have recently been taken to meet high safety standards on the project have been outlined by the ODA.

Nevertheless, John Armitt, chairman of the organisation, believes that the project's record on health and safety should not be tarnished in the future.

He commented: 'We have achieved an excellent safety record on the project so far through the commitment and hard work of everyone on the site.

'However, there are still huge challenges ahead of us.'

Users of personal protection equipment such as protective boots may be interested to note that campaigns have recently been run to encourage workers on the Olympic site to raise their health awareness.

Meanwhile, last month, Mr Armitt noted that the construction of the Olympic Stadium was still very much on course.
