  3. New hearing protection launched

A new hearing protection product has been unveiled by headset solutions firm GN Netcom.

The company's new Jabra BT530 is the first product to include its Noise Blackout technology, which has been created to cut ambient sounds but not compromise voice quality.

It also includes a dual microphone, acoustic shock protection, a USB charger connection and around five hours of talk time.

Anne Rasmussen, vice-president of GN Netcom's mobile division, said the new technology in the headset was a 'completely new and proprietary technology'.

She added that it 'not only allows crystal clear sound but eliminates the 'tinny' sound that many noise cancellation headsets are plagued with'.

Last week, it was revealed that personal protective equipment manufacturer Sperian has launched a new range of safety eyewear.

The company's new W-Series has been designed specifically for women, with the firm claiming that many other items do not cater for female cheekbones.

Adjustable nosepieces and polycarbonate lenses are included on the products.
