New health and safety event for north-east PPE users

People operating in the north-east's construction industry who regularly make use of protective gear such as safety boots might be able to take advantage of a forthcoming health and safety event.

Issues such as manual handling risks and the dangers of silica dust will be touched upon during the Wynyard Park event, which takes place later this month.

Meanwhile, the Working Well Together North East awareness group will also be launched at the meeting.

In addition to various presentations, the event will enable construction firms and their operatives to view new pieces of building equipment, as part of an exhibition.

The Billingham-based event will be staged on April 28th.

However, it is not just construction workers who might need to be aware of health and safety issues.

Underwriters Laboratories recently offered a number of safety recommendations to homeowners, in order to ensure they do not have accidents while carrying out DIY work.
