New ambulance team set to make use of PPE

Personal protective equipment (PPE), which might potentially include products like safety boots, is set to be used by a new ambulance team, it has been highlighted.

Speaking in an article published by Bedfordshire on Sunday, the manager of the East of England Ambulance Service's new Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), Steven Moore, noted some of the conditions the team is able to work in.

He stated: 'Specialist training and personal protective equipment has given our HART paramedics the skills and equipment to get to a patient in a hazardous environment [or] in a confined space.'

According to the news provider, 44 paramedics will make up the new team, which is also set to make use of specialist vehicles.

Earlier this month, the Health and Safety Executive confirmed that it recently gave out improvement notices in the north-east because certain building contractors were not focusing enough on the use of PPE.
