New PPE to offer more protection to Cornish fire fighters

New items of personal protective equipment (PPE) are being distributed among fire fighters based in areas of Cornwall, it has been announced.

Speaking in a report on thisisthewestcountry.co.uk, Kevin Lavery of Cornwall Council outlined his belief that the gear will offer more protection to those working in the sector.

Mr Lavery, chief executive of the organisation, is reported by the news provider as saying that the new PPE will offer 'the very best protection for our fire fighters who are regularly deployed in difficult and dangerous conditions'.

Leggings and new fire coats are among the items that Cornish fire operatives are set to benefit from.

Meanwhile, users of PPE like safety boots and eye protection gear may be able to take advantage of the advice provided by a new website launched by Sperian Protection's Uvex brand.

The online resource aims to deal with the issue of workplace safety.
