International PPE conference to be held
A major international event designed to highlight emerging trends in personal protective equipment (PPE) is to be held before the end of the year.
Beginning on December 1st, the two-day event in the Twente region of the Netherlands is expected to involve the creation of a Europe-wide agenda for the development of new equipment in the sector.
The event is supported by not-for-profit apparel organisation Euratex and the European Safety Federation, as well as TenCate and Protex.
According to its organisers, the conference 'aims to bring together a critical mass in market share, state of art knowledge, market intelligence and leadership to set the agenda for policy development and innovation'.
Details about the event have come after the Health and Safety Executive released figures suggesting that the UK is becoming a safer place to work.
The number of major injuries at work fell during 2007-08 compared to the start of the decade.
