Hearing protection will complement goggles and safety boots
New hearing protection products will enable construction workers to guard their ears from the noise of busy construction sites, while complementing the use of safety boots and goggles, according to a manufacturer.
Designed by SensGard, a new hardhat adaptor and hearing protection models will clip onto the back of most hardhats, reducing sound by as much as 31 decibels.
The new technology is said to be durable and reliable even in extreme hot or cold temperatures.
It reportedly offers more protection than traditional ear plugs or ear muffs and is lightweight and comfortable to wear.
The hearing protection models incorporate ZEM technology, reshaping the mechanical energy of sound waves to stop them from reaching the ears.
According to SensGard, people wearing the head gear will still be able to discern speech and other important sounds from the harmful noise of construction sites.
SensGard manufactures a range of sound-reduction technology products to minimise damage caused by the manufacturing, construction and military industries.
