  3. Health and safety expo set for Scotland

A new exposition focused on boosting health and safety practices will be held in Scotland next week.

The event, the first off its type in the Kintore area of the country, will see a number of experts gather, and much of the focus will be on personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as on training.

There will also be a number of demonstrations of the latest safety equipment, and talks given by specialists in a host of fields in the HSE arena.

One of the highlights of the show will be the appearance of magicians however, with the organisers hoping the magic touch will help get the important message of safety in the workplace across.

The organisers of the 2015 Safety Expo show say that for certain sectors working in the northeast, the expo will be essential.

Highlighting that reducing costs in this area is important, organiser Jason Moir explained:

“When you consider that the cost of getting health and safety wrong amounts to nearly £40million a day in the UK alone, it is understandable and entirely correct that QHSE issues remain at the forefront of business consciousness.”

Many of the exhibitors are safety training firms, with AquaTerra Training hosting the event in the show's inaugural year. The show will be held at the offices of the firm, AquaTerra House, at the Midmill Business Park in Kintore.

The show takes place on 21st May, with QHSE workers and professionals from throughout the area invited to attend.
