Measures recommended in a past NHS campaigns to prepare people for Easter DIY work include ensuring when the local GP surgery is open over the break, restocking the medicine cupboards and making sure a first aid kit is on hand.

Investing in safety equipment such as safety boots of safety gloves could also help to prevent little injuries that might be sustained through accidents.

Easter weekend sees the NHS 24 line experience an increase in calls due to decorating, repairing or restoring accidents. It is therefore advisable to make sure every possible step is taken to reduce these injuries.
