Construction sector needs govt support, safety boots users told
The UK construction industry will require further support from the country's ministers, according to one expert.
Building workers who are required to make use of personal protective equipment such as safety boots may be interested to note the views expressed by the Federation of Master Builders' (FMB) Richard Diment when it comes to the sector.
Mr Diment, the organisation's director general, believes that improvements to the nation's infrastructure will only happen in the future if construction firms are given government backing.
'Any cuts in construction would merely cripple an already badly damaged skills base and supply chain and seriously inhibit the building industry's recovery,' he commented.
He also noted some of the financial benefits that construction investment can lead to in this country.
Meanwhile, the FMB's director of external affairs Brian Berry has suggested that recent housing proposals made by the Liberal Democrat Party should have included more retrofitting plans.
