Construction safety focus must continue, safety gloves users told

Construction firms should continue to focus on good standards of health and safety, it has been suggested.

Speaking at a recent conference launched by the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), the government's health and safety minister Lord McKenzie noted that health and safety measures must not be too much of a burden on small and medium-sized companies.

He said: 'Although we are still learning how best to raise awareness of health and safety risks in small and medium-sized construction companies, we are getting there.

'We must continue to share our experiences across Europe.'

In another development that may interest construction firms looking to promote the use of personal protective equipment like safety gloves, the FMB's event also saw a number of other speeches made, from the likes of Kevin Fear, Construction Skills' health and safety head.

The FMB recently called for more government funding to be pledged towards the creation and retrofitting of UK homes.
