Construction safety event to be held in Scotland
A major construction safety event organised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is set to take place in Scotland this week.
Held in partnership with the Scottish Housebuilders Health and Safety Forum and Homes for Scotland, the seminar is taking place at Almondvale football stadium in Livingstone.
Aimed at sub-contractors, managers and directors, the event will consider a number of topics and may touch upon the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Several speakers and exhibitors will also be attending the seminar.
Jim Skilling, a principal inspector for the HSE, said: 'The toll of injury in the building industry in Scotland is a real matter for concern.
'Events like this are designed to provide the key decision makers in the industry with the skills and knowledge they need to protect their workers and contractors.'
The HSE is also holding a major inspection initiative in Merseyside next week.
From June 9th, the body is holding several unannounced inspections at construction sites in the Sefton area.
