Capital Safety launches fall arrest equipment
A new range of fall arrest equipment has been launched by global manufacturer Capital Safety.
The company's DBI-SALA brand's ExoFit XP Derrickmans Harness is designed specifically for the oil industry and the performance of monkey board and basket work.
As well as including standard features such as quick-connect buckles and reflective piping, it also boasts a large frontal pad for extra comfort.
Rick Millar, technical manager for Capital Safety, said that derrickmen are 'exposed to the greatest risks of any worker with regards to falling on a drilling rig'.
He added: 'A comfortable and functional harness is critical to the smooth and safe operations on the board.'
The official launch of the fall arrest equipment has come after Canadian company Ronco released a range of hand protection created from bamboo.
Available in four sizes, the Ronco-Eco gloves are made from 100 per cent bamboo shell and feature a natural foam latex coating.
